File Format.

In order to retain the message type and header properties messages can be saved in an XML format (the schema for which is in $HERMES_HOME/bin/jms2xml-schema.xsd).

Configuring.

HermesJMS comes with a simple JMS implementation that allows the reading and writing of XML files in its schema. You can additionally have a message repository directory of your choosing (the "messages" node in the session tree) that is scanned every few seconds for new files. Here is a file session.

The message repository directory is configured via the MessageDirectory property in the Preferences -> General panel.

Browsing Messages in a File.

Either double click on a file in the Files session or in the messages repository node.

See also Destinations for a description of the actions in the message toolbar

Sending Messages from a File

After browsing a file you can treat the messages as if they came from a queue or topic and simply drag and drop them onto a queue or topic. Alternatively in the main toolbar you can send a text file and send an XML message file directly to a selected queue or topic.
