This presentation will introduce the concepts and purpose of the OSGi framework along with the three open-source implementations Apache Felix, Knopflerfish and Equinox. A Swing application will be demonstrated that shows the benefits of OSGi for dynamic systems, as well as loading multiple versions of the same code into the JVM concurrently. We'll conclude with a look to the future with JSR 291 and JSR 277.

Alex Blewitt is editor of EclipseZone.com and is a frequent speaker and writer on the subjects of OSGi and Eclipse. He is noted for his wacky tie collection.
